Curling Ribbon and Foil Heart Clipart

If you have a regular camera or a digital camera you too can make your own curling ribbon or foil heart clipart (or in a pinch you can simply copy this one by right clicking on it and selecting "Save Picture As..." from the drop down menu and saving it to the directory of your choice.)

Making your own is fairly simple provided you have the software to edit the photo. Simply curl a piece of curling ribbon and tape the ends to a piece of white paper. Shoot the picture with both flash and without flash just to be safe. If you use a regular camera you'll have to either have the photos developed on disk or scan the finished photo into your computer. If you have a digital camera just upload it to your PC. Either way, once the photo is saved on your hard drive, open it in your favorite photo editing software, delete the background, size it to your desired dimensions and even change the color if you like! You can make all different colored curling ribbon clipart from just one photo especially if you use silver ribbon for the original picture. This makes it much easier to change the color in the photo editing software. Just make sure you save each color to its own file. It's best to save this type of clipart in JPEG format as this is the industry standard for photos and usually gives the best clarity to this type of art. If you want to get the effect we used on our Wedding Heart Rice Bag or our Table Tent, use your ribbon clipart, then copy and paste it and tone down the color of the copy and make it a little smaller than the original.

For the foil heart, we used one of those foil wine bags and shot a close up of the bag with a digital camera. We then opened that photo in Printmaster and cropped it using a heart shaped crop. That's all there is to that one!
